Purchasing Planner and Administrator

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Herne Bay office-based Purchasing Planner and Administrator with a confident attitude looking to join our busy Purchasing  department.

Working with a passionate team of colleagues, the successful candidate will help ensure the business is provided with a constant and sufficient supply of both finished products & components to meet customer demand levels.

You should have excellent team player skills with a background in purchasing. This is a challenging role and will require that you have a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multi task.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Processing purchase orders.
2. Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery dates, negotiating where necessary to bring product in on time, problem solving.
3. Reviewing stock levels ensuring that there is sufficient stock to satisfy demand without overstocking.
4. Analysing sales forecast to predict future demands.
5. Reviewing purchase costs and negotiating with suppliers.
6. Minimising delivery costs and lead times.
7. Presenting reports on KPI’s and liaising cross functionally with other areas throughout the business.
8. Monitoring and updating computer records with a high level of accuracy.
9. Continuously seeking internal process improvements and improvements throughout the supply chain.

The role is based on 37.5 hours per week 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday at our Head office in Herne Bay, Kent. Although the role may include supplier visits & exhibitions throughout the UK which may include overnight stays & weekends.

Competitive Salary, depending on experience.
